SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NUTRITION ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS: Education: None-high school diploma or GED preferred

REPORTS TO: School Nutrition Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of the substitute school nutrition food assistant are such as those in the list given below, but they may be increased, decreased, and otherwise modified.
- Performs all food & nutrition duties assigned by the manager
- Practices procedures in food preparation, use & care of equipment, and personal habits to assure that sanitation & safety standards are met
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted
- Perform the following specific duties:
- After appropriate instruction, must be able to operate all food service equipment such as the slicer, dishwasher, mixer, etc.
- Remove hot pans from the oven
- Be able to move body in a side to side motion with ease
- Sweep & mop large areas of flooring
- Lift heavy crates of milk from the cooler
- Carry produce & other stock items to and from the storage areas
- Be ready to assist other employees when stocking shelves, carrying serving trays, and other assigned tasks
- Clean cafeteria tables & work areas
- Always wear skid-resistant shoes and hair nets
- Wears only a minimum amount of appropriate jewelry
- Fingernails must be clean, trimmed & not artificial
- Exhibits courtesy and a professional attitude at all times in dealing with the board, school administration, fellow employees, parents, students, and the public
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism regarding students and school system affairs
- Works effectively and cooperatively with administrators, teachers, and staff.
- Performs all duties in a timely and effective manner.
- Effective oral and written communications
- Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities
- Performs all other duties as requested by the school nutrition manager
